Araujo Lima Construction Company inaugurated Firenze Building in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in July/2006. Firenze Building counts on solar / gas heating system with electric backup, customized by Enalter Engineering Department with a high pattern of quality, able to generate 3 million liters of hot water annually for daily baths for 72 dwellers. It was installed in a collecting area able to produce thermo solar energy of approximately 66MWh/year. The annual saving provided by the system is of about R$ 28.000,00 and the return of investments is forecasted for less than two years. The system will save around 500.000 Reais during its useful life.
One of the big differentials of the heating system is the utilization of the hybrid system bringing about an extra saving to the building. The supporting system only works in rainy days or in low sun radiation days, heating only what is consumed, giving to the client great comfort and a 60% lower electric energy bill.
In addition, the system works with three different sources of energy: solar, gas and electric. The electric energy will only heat the system in case of a defect in the supporting gas system. Besides providing excellent saving, this system also offers great reliability.
