ENALTER’s Solar heating will save around 1,5 million reais.
The Integrated Center SESI / SENAI inaugurated a modern professionalizing school in São João Nepomuceno, Minas Gerais, in August / 2006. This integrated center counts on two heating systems: one of them to the changing room and the other to the swimming pool.
The sun heating system of the swimming pool is responsible for the heating of the Olympic and the children swimming pools which means 1.000.000 liters of water. A collecting area of 300 m2 that produces thermo solar energy of approximately 126 MWh/ year was installed.
The annual saving provided by the system is of around R$ 70.000,00 compared to the electric heating. The system will save around 1,5 million Reais during its useful life.
Besides being a big size system, it has various peculiarities such as the quick return of investments and the fixation of the sheets. The return of investments is only of two years. The fixation of the solar collectors was done with an industrial glue thus avoiding holes in the roof and abolishing the risk of leaks and infiltration.

The supporting gas system only works in rainy days or in low solar radiation days, heating only what is needed. The adopted gas heaters are of the last generation and of high energetic efficiency, providing saving of approximately 50% in relation to the conventional electric heater.
